Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Starship Machining Operations. Design factory layouts to boost capacity, and lead installation of automated CNC cells and supporting systems. Manage vendor engagements and complex projects with hands-on leadership on the factory floor.

You will drive process improvements, analyze delivery and capacity, and ensure safety across the build-out and production areas. Bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years’ experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics or an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Experience with installing and commissioning complex machinery.

Responsibilities

• Design and own factory and production area layouts to increase capacity.
• Lead installation and commissioning of automated CNC cells and feed systems.
• Conduct vendor walks, negotiate prices, and manage schedules.
• Execute complex projects with efficiency and cost control.
• Hands-on leadership to drive rapid project completion.
• Develop systems to improve production delivery, capacity and cost.
• Create tools to analyze delivery, capacity and cost for decisions.
• Drive safety adherence throughout the build-out and operations.
