Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist (Starship) for the night shift. You will design and activate electrical and control systems for Starship at Cape Canaveral, working with a small team to build reliable automation for launch operations.

You will write PLC code, develop electrical schematics, and create robust manufacturing plans while ensuring safety and compliance with NFPA and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in controls technician, controls specialist, or engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology preferred.
• Trade school qualification in instrumentation or electrical field.

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative designs for equipment integration in challenging environments.
• Execute integration and activation testing of new equipment.
• Manage electrical cabinet builds, wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing.
• Author manufacturing planning work orders with precision.
• Troubleshoot active ground support equipment and tooling.
• Develop robust procedures to train technicians for control systems activation.
• Layout NFPA79/NEC/UL508A panels and create electrical/ fluid schematics.
• Contribute to design of new and existing control systems for launch operations.
• Develop and debug PLC code with clear, maintainable structure.
