Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for the Starlink program to own supplier quality, cost, and delivery initiatives. You will collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to drive improvements and ensure readiness for production.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, PPAP/APQP, and proven project ownership in fast-paced environments. This role requires extended hours and up to 60% travel, based in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing including copper/fiber harnessing and connectors preferred.
  • Strong ownership and cost-reduction experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Own continuity of supply and improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for cables, connectors, and harnessing used in Starlink satellites.
  • Collaborate with design, R&D, and manufacturing to understand part design intent.
  • Review and approve substrate fabrication tech, assembly processes, and QC plans.
  • Support procurement to source parts with supplier competencies by reviewing supplier processes and quality systems.
  • Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers.
  • Define supplier quality and technical requirements for NPI and production phases.
  • Lead root-cause analysis to resolve supplier quality issues across purchasing, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Implement PPAP with suppliers to enable rate production and ensure qualification activities align with requirements.
