As a Starbucks Barista, you'll bring your energetic attitude to life by taking orders and crafting drinks with a friendly smile and swift precision. Connected to the newly expanded Baird Center, the Hilton Milwaukee is Milwaukee's largest hotel. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee offers 729 well-appointed guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space. At the Hilton Milwaukee, we pride ourselves on continuous innovation through our approach to world-class service, upscale amenities, and superior style.

Responsibilities

1. Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, preparing Starbucks beverages to standard.
2. Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
3. Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
4. Ascertain guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiate an accommodation.
5. Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, cash drawer, and house bank management.
6. Balance house bank at the end of the shift.
7. Perform general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.

Qualifications

1. Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and under pressure.
2. Previous hospitality, barista, cashiering, or customer service experience preferred.
3. Ability to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
4. Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, and preparing cash drops.
5. Effective conflict resolution skills.
6. Proficiency in English to understand menus, promotions, and communicate with guests.
7. Ability to operate keyboard and POS procedures for cashier functions.
