STARBUCKS/BARISTA (Finance)



Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Treat customers/employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment, being a responsible member of the community, providing the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Responsibilities include:

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions about products.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards, and to customer's requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products for which they inquire; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all equipment in coffee shop such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, etc., according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions; notify store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
  • Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, issues, or illegal activity to store management.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Must perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Salary Range: $19.25 - $25.35.
