Job description

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Treat customers/employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment, being a responsible member of the community, providing the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Responsibilities
  1. Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  2. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  3. Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  4. Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer’s requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
  5. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products for which they inquire about; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  6. Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrink.
  7. Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  8. Use all equipment in coffee shop such as the refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  9. Check product quality to ensure freshness; review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
  10. Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  11. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  12. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  13. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  14. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  15. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  16. Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud to store management.
  17. Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
  18. Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  19. Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  20. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  21. Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  22. Perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
