Job summary

Villa Restaurant Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Starbucks Assistant General Manager to join the opening leadership team for our brand-new Starbucks location at JFK International Airport’s Terminal 6.

The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to build a strong team, oversee daily operations, and ensure every guest receives the high-quality products and service associated with the Starbucks brand.

Qualifications

• At least two years of supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, café, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Starbucks leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading and developing employees in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in overseeing all daily store operations
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and developing team members
• Lead shifts and ensure the store operates efficiently during high-volume periods
• Maintain Starbucks standards for beverage quality, guest service, cleanliness, food safety, and store presentation
• Monitor labor, inventory, product waste, cash handling, and operational expenses
• Address guest concerns professionally and help create a welcoming customer experience
• Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance support to shift leaders and baristas
• Help maintain accurate payroll, scheduling, inventory, and operational records
• Ensure compliance with Starbucks standards, Villa Restaurant Group policies, airport requirements, union requirements, and applicable regulations
• Assume responsibility for store operations when the General Manager is unavailable
• Support opening activities, training, and the successful launch of the new location
• Maintain the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs
