Job summary

TekPro Engineering in Wilmington, NC is seeking experienced CNC professionals to set up and operate Star Swiss CNC machines. You will review setup sheets, install tooling, update offsets, run production and inspect first articles to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Candidates should have 4+ years of CNC experience, strong Swiss or lathe setup background, and proficiency with precision inspection equipment. On-site role with sign-on bonuses possible for exceptional Swiss machinists.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience setting up and operating Star Swiss CNC machines.
• 4+ years of CNC machining in a production or job-shop environment.
• Strong Swiss or CNC lathe setup background.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision inspection equipment.
• Four- and five-axis machining exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

With precision manufacturing on the rise in the Wilmington market, this is an excellent long‑term opportunity for experienced CNC professionals.A day in the lifeYou roll up to a Star Swiss CNC, review the setup sheet and blueprints with GD&T callouts, and stage your tooling. You install inserts and holders, set and update offsets, verify the program, and load bar stock. You cut the first piece, inspect it with calipers, micrometers, height and pin gauges, and submit an internal first article to Quality. With a green light, you load and run production to plan—monitoring tool wear, replacing tooling proactively, and making program adjustments to keep parts in spec and throughput high.
