Rack Electric's generator service division is hiring a Standby Power Systems Field Technician in West Palm Beach. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize residential and commercial generators and controls.

You’ll work paperless in a CRM, perform bi-annual maintenance, install remote monitoring, handle emergencies during on-call weeks, and operate with safety and customer service in mind. This role requires a mechanical background, some electrical experience, and a willingness to

Qualifications

Professional, neat appearance; well-spoken and detail oriented.
Solid mechanical background; technical aptitude is a must.
Electrical experience is a strong plus; familiarity with ATS, load shedding, and surge protection is a great advantage.
Self-driven and motivated with a methodical approach; follows company procedures.
Willingness to be cross‑trained across company divisions.
Comfort working in extreme conditions including heat, wind, and rain.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on rare occasions and to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
Generator experience is a huge plus; training on basic generator features and benefits is provided.

Responsibilities

Complete residential and commercial bi-annual maintenance on a set daily schedule.
Install and service remote monitoring equipment for generators.

About The Role

At Rack Electric, our generator service division is growing fast. As a Standby Power Systems Field Technician, you’ll keep residential and commercial customers powered up by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing their generators and related controls.

A day in the life

You start by reviewing your paperless route in our CRM, then roll out in a service vehicle to perform bi-annual maintenance visits. Between stops, you diagnose operational issues, fine-tune monitoring equipment, and advise customers on ATS, load shedding, and surge protection. One week at a time, you’re the on‑call pro customers rely on when emergencies hit.
