Job summary

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced editor to join the Standards and Ethics department, dedicated to upholding rigorous fairness and integrity in reporting. You will act as a final reader on impactful journalism and as an arbiter of disputes, protecting readers’ interests.

You will lead pre-publication reviews, collaborate with Dow Jones media attorneys and editors, and champion the Journal’s standards across the newsroom, reinforcing trust built over 130 years of reporting.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of journalism experience, including high-level editing and managerial experience in a senior leadership role.
• Strong fairness, news judgment and commitment to truth.
• Significant knowledge of The Wall Street Journal’s standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Champion and defend high-quality, fact-based journalism and pre-publication review of essential journalism.
• Guide reporters with Dow Jones media attorneys and editors to ensure standards.
• Resolve issues after publication and act as arbiter of disputes.
• Protect readers’ interests.
