Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Shepherdsville, KY is seeking a 2nd Shift Standup Forklift Operator. You will operate forklifts and pallet equipment to move products, load pallets, and maintain a clean, safe workspace on a Monday–Friday schedule from 1:45pm to 10:00pm.

Starting pay is $21.13/hour with a $1 premium and eligibility for annual raises and performance-based increases. Benefits and weekly pay are part of Total Rewards at GFS.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and pallet inverter to move product to designated areas.
• Insert pallets into the pallet conveyor system and sort pallets.
• Remove damaged products from pallets during tipping and preparation.
• Ensure finished pallets are ready for conveyor with proper wrapping and tags.
• Conduct daily housekeeping and follow safety practices.

2nd Shift Standup Forklift Operator

Distribution Center Address:

342 Gordon Industrial Ave, Shepherdsville KY

Pay:

Starting at $21.13/hour (includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium)

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday work week, with Saturdays and Sundays off
• 2nd Shift 1:45pm-10:00pm (shifts vary based on work volume)

Essential Functions

• Uses forklift and pallet inverter machine to transfer product from bad wood to good wood. Removes slip-sheets from all pallets.
• Uses forklift to insert pallet into the pallet conveyor system.
• Uses forklift to sort all empty pallets from the system and place the pallets in designated areas.
• Uses forklifts to help empty the system reject spurs.
• Removes damaged products from the pallets during the tipping process.
• May be required to ensures finished pallets are ready to be placed onto the conveyor; no loose wrap, product is on good wood, pallets are wrapped, and pallet tags can be read by scanners.
• Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis.
• Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
