Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Shepherdsville, KY is hiring for a 2nd Shift Freight Handler. Start pay is $19.60 per hour with a $1.00 second-shift premium. The role supports the distribution center by unloading pallets, sorting inbound freight, and preparing pallets for sale inventory.

No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:45pm to 10:00pm, with weekends off; ability to work in cold (-25F) to hot (100F) environments and to pass a background

Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from trailers and break down product for correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets and ensure damaged product is not received.
• Account for pallet integrity and support the team in warehouse operations.

2nd Shift Freight Handler

Distribution Center Address: 342 Gordon Industrial Ave, Shepherdsville KY

Pay: Starting at $19.60/hour (includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium) Plus, earn two pay raises in your first year

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday work week, with Saturdays and Sundays off 2nd Shift 1:45pm-10:00pm (shifts vary based on work volume)

Job Responsibilities

• As a freight handler, you'll support our team by safely removing pallets of product from the trailer and breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration.
• You will also separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory, and account for the structural integrity of pallets.
• There’s no experience required - we'll train you how to get the job done!

Requirements

• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers!
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F) is required while you’re here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
