Job summary

Nucor Steel Marion, Inc., a division of Nucor Corporation, is hiring a Stand Guide Builder. You will work with a team to assemble and disassemble rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule, train for additional Roll Shop roles, and assist crane operation and rigging as needed.

You will also locate parts, manage work orders, and track completed work using company systems. The position requires flexibility for overtime, rotating shifts, holidays and weekends, with safety as the core

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Cross-training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Stand Guide Builder works with a team to provide quality service to the Rolling Mill through assembly and disassembly of rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule.
• Assist the mill team and train for other roles in the Roll Shop; support crane operation and rigging as needed.
• Use computer resources to locate parts, manage work orders, and track completed work.
• May require overtime, rotating shifts, holidays and weekends; safety is the top priority.

Basic Job Functions:

The Stand Guide Builder is responsible for working with a team to provide excellent quality and service to the Rolling Mill through assembly and disassembly of rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the mill team where needed, willingness to train and perform other job positions in the Roll Shop, assisting other teammates with crane operation and rigging as needed. Additionally, the successful candidate will utilize computer resources to locate parts, manage work orders, and track completed work. The qualified candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to Safety by actively engaging in building and improving the division's Safety Culture, Processes, and Procedures.
• Able to successfully pass remote crane operator and mobile equipment requirements.
