Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Maintenance Technician to safely inspect, repair, and maintain heavy equipment across our plant floor. You will follow OSHA procedures and perform welding, cutting, and routine preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates are able to work outdoors/in all weather, stand or walk up to 10 hours, and flex overtime as needed; you will support production during outages and adhere to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards every day.

Qualifications

• Follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Operate and repair equipment including conveyor and hydraulic systems, bearings, gear boxes, motors, shredder, eddy current, baler.
• Perform MIG welding and stick welding using 7018.
• Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
• Flexible overtime in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the priority; uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, hydraulics, bearings, gear boxes, motors and shredders.
• Assist maintenance and production personnel during scheduled repair projects.
• Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Maintain and repair all equipment including but not limited to conveyor and hydraulic systems, bearings, gear boxes, motors, shredder, eddy current, baler, etc.
• Acetylene torch and plasma cutting
• MIG welding and stick welding using 7018
• Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
• Minor cleanup and other duties as assigned
• Assist other maintenance and production personnel during scheduled repair projects
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Flexible working overtimein an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work standing or walking for up to 10 hours per day.
