Repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial steel production and processing machinery, hydraulic, pneumatic and water piping distribution systems using blueprints and manuals. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulics/pneumatics, centralized lubrication systems, alignments, power transmission, and pumps/piping in a steel hot mill and/or melt shop. Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans. Perform mechanical troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment. Check Conveyor belt splice for delamination and cracks and repair using mechanical splice or hot vulcanize splice. Replace rollers, conveyors, belts, and drive shafts used in raw material handling systems containing alloys and DRI. Check fluid levels and repair Directional Control Valves (DCV), and Hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders. Test equipment to determine optimal performance of all pressure and relief systems are maintained. Review mechanical and electrical schematics for core plant systems, including compressors, gearboxes, motors, ID and FD Fans, pumps, and vessels using AutoCad and/or Auto ISO. Generated work orders, document repairs, order requisitions, and update Plant Maintenance schedule utilizing Oracle or DataStream computerized maintenance management systems. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment. Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management. Train teammates on the features and functions of new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment. Demonstrate the ability to understand mechanical and electrical schematics. Work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime. 5% travel required to attend meetings and trainings (domestic and international).
Compensation $73,757.00 – 143,000.00 per year. (Position is an hourly position and eligible for a production bonus and profit-share)
