Job summary

Nucor Marion, a division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking a Stand Guide Builder to support rolling mill operations in Marion, Ohio. You will assemble and disassemble rolling mill stands and guides, assist the Roll Shop team, and manage parts and work orders using company computer systems.

The role requires safety commitment, ability to pass crane and mobile equipment requirements, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to Safety by actively engaging in building and improving the division's Safety Culture, Processes, and Procedures.
• Able to successfully pass remote crane operator and mobile equipment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble/disassemble rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule.
• Assist mill team and other Roll Shop positions as needed.
• Use computer resources to locate parts, manage work orders, and track completed work.
• Willing to work overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.

Basic Job Functions:

The Stand Guide Builder is responsible for working with a team to provide excellent quality and service to the Rolling Mill through assembly and disassembly of rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the mill team where needed, willingness to train and perform other job positions in the Roll Shop, assisting other teammates with crane operation and rigging as needed. Additionally, the successful candidate will utilize computer resources to locate parts, manage work orders, and track completed work. The qualified candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to Safety by actively engaging in building and improving the division's Safety Culture, Processes, and Procedures.
• Able to successfully pass remote crane operator and mobile equipment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude
• Relevant cross-training experience
