GSM General Stamping & Metalworks in South Bend, IN is seeking a Regular Full Time Tooling/Manufacturing Technician. You will prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and programs for production, oversee first runs, and troubleshoot complex parts.

Responsibilities include ordering supplies, managing tool libraries, optimizing operation sequences for safety, and supporting continuous improvement and preventive maintenance. High school diploma required; SolidWorks training preferred.

Description

Ensures tooling, programs, and equipment are ready and optimized for efficient production. Supports process improvements and minimizes downtime.

Reporting

Reports to the Engineering Manager. Collaborates across teams and halts unsafe or incorrect operations when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and programs for production
• Oversee first runs and troubleshoot complex parts
• Order supplies and manage tool libraries
• Optimize operation sequences for safety and efficiency

Requirements

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and OEM software
• Experience with stamping, bending, welding, and laser technologies
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

Education & Experience

• High school diploma required; SolidWorks training preferred
• 2+ years in machine operation or programming
