  • Inspect parts with standard instruments and document non-conformities.
  • Manage time to minimize downtime during shifts.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Stamping Production Operator (3rd Shift)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: STAMPING OPERATOR

Shift: Wed-Fri 6p-6a

Summary/Objective: The Stamping Operator will be responsible for operating stamping presses, performing in-process quality inspections.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Read and maintain a shared shift report throughout the work day.
  • Use Samtec systems to record production data , inventory quantities and confirm quality .
  • Use SFC to locate , print an order and enter daily production numbers.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and quality guidelines
  • Use Samtec's internal Inventory Suite to make labels, reprint labels, and void labels
  • Pull up print in Print View to verify revision and winding specifics
  • Enter Auto-Tech for needed maintenance or tool change s
  • Use PRISM to record downtime events and change press status.
  • Inspections
    • Perform visual inspections
    • Must be familiar with standard inspection equipment and gauges for precision measurements
    • Enter an Auto-Tech for any non-conformity found by the inspector
    • Must be able to communicate quality issues verbally .
  • Must be able to manage time to minimize shut down for breaks and lunches.
  • Physical demands include lifting 40 pounds from the floor to a height of 4 feet and standing for 10 or more hours each shift.

Required Experience :

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or stamping facility is preferred
  • Individual must be able to stand for 12-hour shift and will be subject to loud environment. Hearing protection will be available to the associate.
  • Some simple mechanical experience is a plus.

Preferred Education:

  • High School diploma or GED is required .

Training required : On the Job Training as appropriate
