Job summary

North American Stamping Group seeks a Metal Stamping Press Operator for the 3rd shift in Portland, TN. You will safely operate stamping presses to produce quality components while adhering to NASG standards and continuous improvement practices.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork with a 10% shift premium and eligibility for a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 52 weeks. Candidates should be capable of lifting 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills expected.
• Prefer experience in assembly/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate stamping presses and auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Maintain 5-S cleanliness and station organization.
• Start-up presses and adjust after set-up.
• Changeover and set-up of stamping dies and presses.
• Adjust process parameters per Die Set-up sheet.
• Set-up and adjust coil feeders, straighteners, and other equipment.
• Inspect parts per inspection instructions, including visual checks.
• Update Die Set-up sheets and report information to Leaders.
• Verify production schedule using Shop Edge system.
• Report quality, production, or safety issues to Team Leader.
• Maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility.
• Suggest continuous improvement ideas and participate in programs.
• Repoert for overtime as required.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Safely and efficiently operate a stamping press producing stamped parts. The primary focus being on safety, quality, and efficient production techniques by utilizing the NASG Press standards and procedures. Continuous improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills using the TQPS principles of TSL. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• A. Operate stamping Presses as required - including any auxiliary equipment.
• B. 5-S as a PRIORITY - Keep station clean and orderly.
• C. Initiate press start-up and adjust as required after a set-up.
• D. Changeover & Set-up of stamping dies and presses.
• E. Adjust process parameters as dictated from the Die Set-up sheet
• F. Set-up and adjust auxiliary equipment as required: coil feeders, straighteners, etc.
• G. Part Inspection per Inspection Instructions: This includes visual inspections, & associated
• H. Die Set-up sheets - report updated information to Leaders as needed.
• I. Verify production schedule using the Shop Edge system.
• J. Report all quality, production or safety problems to the Team Leader.
• K. Perform & maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility.
• L. Suggest methods of improvement, (i.e. continuous improvement plan & performance award program).
• M. Available for overtime as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High school diploma or GED - minimum
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated basic math skills

Experience:

• Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills
• Prefer previous experience in an assembly / manufacturing environment.

Personal/Technical Skills:

• Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team.
• Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties.
• Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative & flexible.
