Job summary

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Stamping Operator to run stamping presses, perform in-process quality inspections, and maintain shift reports. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a loud environment with hearing protection provided.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing or stamping and a High School diploma or GED. Training on internal systems (SFC, PRISM, Inventory Suite) is part of the job.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or stamping facility is preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for 12-hour shift in a loud environment; hearing protection will be provided.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Some simple mechanical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Read and maintain a shared shift report throughout the work day.
  • Use Samtec systems to record production data, inventory quantities and confirm quality.
  • Perform visual inspections and use gauges for precision measurements.
  • Enter Auto-Tech for maintenance or tool changes and document downtime in PRISM.
  • Use PRISM to record downtime events and change press status.
  • Manage time to minimize shutdowns for breaks and lunches.

Job Description

Job title: STAMPING OPERATOR


Shift: Wed-Fri 6p-6a


Summary/Objective: The Stamping Operator will be responsible for operating stamping presses, performing in-process quality inspections.


Essential Functions/ Responsibilities


  • Read and maintain a shared shift report throughout the work day.

  • Use Samtec systems to record production data, inventory quantities and confirm quality.

    • Use SFC to locate, print an order and enter daily production numbers.

    • Follow detailed work instructions and quality guidelines

    • Use Samtec's internal Inventory Suite to make labels, reprint labels, and void labels

    • Pull up print in Print View to verify revision and winding specifics

    • Enter Auto-Tech for needed maintenance or tool changes

    • Use PRISM to record downtime events and change press status.



  • Inspections

    • Perform visual inspections

    • Must be familiar with standard inspection equipment and gauges for precision measurements

    • Enter an Auto-Tech for any non-conformity found by the inspector

    • Must be able to communicate quality issues verbally.



  • Must be able to manage time to minimize shut down for breaks and lunches.

  • Physical demands include lifting 40 pounds from the floor to a height of 4 feet and standing for 10 or more hours each shift.

Required Experience
