Job summary

Weiss Industries in Mansfield, OH is seeking a Stamping Press Tooling & Setup Specialist to own press setups and ensure stamped parts meet prints. You will develop setups for single-hit and progressive-die stamping, load coil/strip safely, and run first-piece inspections.

Role requires blueprint proficiency, problem-solving, and welding experience (MIG/TIG/laser). You will coach others and maintain safe workplaces, supporting throughput and quality across multiple machines.

Qualifications

• Advanced capabilities with stamping presses, tooling, and production equipment.
• Advanced understanding of blueprint reading and parts inspection (including measurement verification to prints).
• Ability to conduct visual inspections, identify defects, determine root causes, deploy containment plans, and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and strong troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with Laser, MIG, and TIG welding and setting up welding for production.

Responsibilities

• Own setups for single-hit and progressive-die stamping operations, plus related forming and shaping equipment.
• Safely handle and load coil/strip using cranes, hoists, or tow motors.
• Design and position scrap chute arrangements for reliable and safe ejection.
• Run first-piece and in-process inspections to confirm all dimensions meet blueprint requirements before production or operator handoff.
• Interpret complex blueprints and translate them into robust, repeatable setups.
• Monitor multiple machines when needed to support throughput and quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues as they arise to reduce downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation according to company policies.
• Coach and train other operators, elevating overall team capability.
