Job summary

SSPAt SSP is seeking a forging press operator in a high-temperature, fast-paced shop in Twinsburg, OH. You will set up forge presses, run trim presses and furnaces, inspect parts, and document process data while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires Blueprints literacy, die handling, and forklift operation; a strong focus on Lean/CI and continuous improvement is expected. High school diploma or trade training is suitable, with room to grow in a vertically integrated

Qualifications

• Basic reading of prints and setup sheets to prepare forging operations.
• Ability to read calipers/micrometers and verify part tolerance per print.
• Operate forge trim and die handling with attention to cycle times and safety.
• Maintain 5S and support Lean/CI initiatives in a hot shop environment.
• Proactively perform basic preventive maintenance on presses and furnaces.
• Follow safety procedures and ISO quality standards in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Set up/operate the forge press by installing dies, plates, and shims.
• Adjust ram to meet print specifications and process capability.
• Retrieve dies and verify tooling readiness from pre-heat bench.
• Load billets with tongs and monitor billet color/heat.
• Run the trim press and operate furnaces; inspect parts per print.
• Capture data using a PC and document process parameters.
• Perform preventive maintenance and sustain 5S in the shop.
• Operate a forklift and follow safety procedures; support supervisor tasks.
