This full-time, first-shift role offers a 6:30 AM–4:30 PM schedule (Mon–Thu, with Friday OT), a $20.00–$25.00 hourly pay rate and an annual salary range of $42,000–$52,000, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school education required.
  • 5 years of press operation experience.
  • Ability to safely set up 70–400 ton mechanical and hydraulic presses.
  • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and Go/No-Go gauges.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols and safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Press setup and operation for 70–400 ton presses in compliance with standards.
  • Die installation, changeover, alignment, and parameter adjustments.
  • Inspect first-piece, in-process, and final parts with precision instruments.
  • Monitor material feeding, lubrication, and equipment performance; adjust within limits.
  • Complete work orders, travelers, and downtime logs before release to downstream ops.
  • Maintain safe, clean work area; enforce safety and safeguarding measures.
  • Report worn or damaged tooling and coordinate with Tool & Die staff.
  • Move dies, coils, and finished parts using appropriate equipment.

Metal Stamping Die Setter / Press Setup Operator

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM (4-Day Workweek, Friday OT available)

Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00/hr (Dependent on verified die setup experience)

Position Type: Direct Hire / Permanent

IMPORTANT APPLICANT NOTICE This is NOT an entry-level machine loader or button-pusher position. We require a skilled Die Setter / Press Technician capable of performing complete, autonomous setups on 70 to 400-ton mechanical and hydraulic presses.

Responsibilities
  • Press Setup & Operation: Safely set up, start, and run coil-fed mechanical and hydraulic presses (70–400 tons) in compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Die Installation & Changeover: Perform die installations, removals, alignment, and parameter adjustments; set up coil feeders, straighteners, and related equipment according to production drawings.
  • Quality Control & Inspection: Inspect first-piece, in-process, and final parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Go/No-Go gauges against technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor material feeding, scrap removal, lubrication, and equipment performance for unusual noise, vibration, or wear; adjust parameters within permitted limits.
  • Production Documentation: Accurately complete work orders, travelers, setup documentation, scrap counts, and downtime logs prior to releasing parts to downstream operations.
  • Safety & Safeguarding: Strictly adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, maintain machine guards and light curtains, wear required PPE, and immediately report unsafe conditions or near misses.
  • Equipment & Tooling Care: Secure and protect dies following removal, report worn or damaged tooling to supervisors or Tool & Die staff, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Material Handling: Move dies, coils, containers, and finished parts safely using appropriate equipment.
