Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. is seeking a Stamp/Press General Services associate for the 2nd shift in Rantoul, IL. You will catch, inspect, and sort stamped parts, ensuring they meet quality standards and production flow.

The role requires attention to detail, comfort around heavy machinery, and strict safety practices. The position supports changeovers and participates in 5S and improvement efforts within the press shop.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Safety-conscious and compliant with PPE requirements.
• Familiarity with basic inspection tools (gauges, calipers) is a plus.
• Experience in metal stamping or press operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Stand at end of press machines to catch freshly stamped parts safely and efficiently.
• Inspect parts visually and manually for defects such as cracks or surface flaws.
• Sort acceptable parts from non-conforming ones based on criteria.
• Stack or place approved parts in designated containers following procedures.
• Communicate quality concerns to press operators and quality personnel.
• Record and report defective parts or recurring issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and dispose of scrap properly.
• Wear PPE and follow safety guidelines for press operations.
• Support press changeovers by preparing materials and assisting operators.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities in the press shop.

Job Summary:

General Service for the Press Department is responsible for catching, handling, and inspecting stamped automotive parts as they exit press machines. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow and ensuring parts meet quality standards. The position involves close attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. This position is for 2nd shift, 3pm-11pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stand at the end of press machines to catch freshly stamped parts safely and efficiently.
• Perform visual and manual inspection of parts for defects such as cracks, bends, burrs, or surface flaws.
• Sort and separate acceptable parts from non-conforming ones based on quality criteria.
• Stack or place approved parts in designated containers or racks following handling procedures.
• Communicate with press operators and quality personnel regarding part quality or equipment concerns.
• Record and report defective parts or recurring issues to the supervisor or quality team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap and debris properly.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines related to press operations.
• Support press changeovers by preparing materials and assisting operators as needed.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities in the press shop.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
• Comfortable working around heavy machinery, noise, and repetitive motion tasks.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Familiarity with basic quality inspection tools (e.g., gauges, calipers) a plus.
• Experience in metal stamping or press operations is a strong advantage.
• Basic understanding of press shop safety practices and machine operation support.
• Automotive manufacturing plant with exposure to laser machinery, metalworking equipment, noise, and heat.
• Required to wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, arm guards, hi-vis belt and steel‑toe boots.
• Shift work, overtime, and weekend availability may be necessary based on production schedules.
