Job summary

FCA US LLC is seeking a Stamping Equipment Engineer to provide lifecycle engineering support for stamping pressroom machinery in a Michigan automotive facility. The role focuses on equipment that shapes metal parts via stamping, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will manage equipment documentation, track progress, costs, and deliverables from design through startup, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED with 3 years in engineering or a related technical field.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate technical data into executive summaries for presentation.
• Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning.
• Microsoft Office: intermediate or advanced.

Responsibilities

• Design, select, and specify stamping pressroom equipment (presses, feeders, conveyors, automation).
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and start-up of new equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for reliability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize performance.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Prepare technical documentation and equipment specifications.
• Manage projects related to equipment upgrades or new installations.
• Analyze equipment performance data and recommend improvements.
• Maintain equipment engineering standards and design specifications.
