Job description

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Construct each stair system within allotted time frame.
  • Meet quality & compliance standards set forth by Southern Staircase.
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or by reading measurements.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolve possible assembly issues by altering dimensions to meet proper specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Request material from warehouse as needed.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Control costs and pursue continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Proficient woodworking skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math accurately.
  • Experience operating power tools, including table saw, band saw, chop & miter saw, and other woodworking tools.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with some heavy lifting required.
  • Ability to build stair systems within company standards.
  • Maintain manufacturing quality, mechanical inspection tools, safety, and quality focus.
Minimum Requirements
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift at least 50lbs.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
