Job summary

Summit Stairs & Millwork in Canton, GA is hiring skilled Stair Builders to assemble standard and custom stairs and millwork. This full-time manual labor role reports to the Production Manager and offers benefits including health, dental, vision, a 401K match, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Candidates should be able to operate saws and planers, measure materials accurately, work in a fast-paced team, and lift heavy loads while maintaining a safe workspace.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable in dusty and noisy environments while operating machines.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long shifts.
  • Experience with woodworking equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Construct standard and custom stairs, including circular and open stairs.
  • Safely operate saws, planers, and pneumatic equipment to build staircases.
  • Organize stair and millwork supplies for efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety standards.
  • Support shop/warehouse duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Summit Stairs & Millwork Inc. is hiring Stair Builders responsible for assembling stairs and millwork products. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Construct standard and unique custom stairs, including circular and open stairs, or stair components.
  • Safely operate tools and equipment, including saws (circular, jig, reciprocating, and compound miter), planers, and pneumatic equipment, to build custom staircases.
  • Organize stair and millwork supplies to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
  • Perform other special projects and shop/warehouse duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to measure materials and mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators accurately.
  • Capability to work effectively in a high-paced team environment to meet daily production goals.
  • Comfort working in a dusty and noisy environment while operating machines and tools.
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift 65 pounds from ground level to standing position and 20 pounds above head.
    • Pull 20 pounds from standing and kneeling positions, including above head.
    • Stand and/or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
    • Frequently bend and stoop during an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Entry-level position; background in physical labor preferred.
  • Experience using multiple types of woodworking equipment is preferred.
