The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking part-time Stagehands to support theatre operations at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center. The role involves assisting with sound, lighting, rigging, and prop handling during rehearsals and performances, with flexible hours and nights/weekends as needed.
Ideal candidates have at least one year backstage theatre experience, familiarity with lighting, audio, carpentry and wardrobe, and a HS diploma or GED.
The City is currently accepting applications to fill several part-time, hourly positions to work in the theatres at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center. Under the direction of the Technical Supervisors and the theatre department leads, the Stagehands assist with a variety of tasks related to theatre operations and maintenance. The schedule will involve working up to 19 hours per week, depending on assignment. The schedule includes working nights, weekends, and holidays. On occasion, the position may involve working additional hours in a week.
Requirements: Must have sufficient physical ability to crawl, climb ladders, lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. In addition, must be able to work in various lighting conditions, including darkened walkways and stairwells.
