Job summary
Hennepin Arts in Minneapolis is seeking a part-time Technical Associate to support the technical operations of theatre productions and events. You will manage audiovisual equipment and software and work closely with the Technical Director to ensure high-quality technical execution.
The role emphasizes hands-on setup, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with staff, with evening/weekend hours and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Technical Theatre, or related field preferred.
- Experience in technical direction or support for live theatre.
- Basic knowledge of stage wiring and power management.
- Familiarity with audio consoles and routing cables.
- Ability to operate and edit sound/visual media.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setup and operation of sound, lighting, and visual equipment for BNW productions and events.
- Ensure technical elements are executed accurately during performances and events.
- Support creation and implementation of media using Q Lab, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and video editing software.
- Act as understudy for long-running productions.
- Maintain and organize equipment; assist in inventory and procurement.
