Job summary

Responsibilities

• Run audition calls ensuring slots are met and auditionees progress with information and direction.
• Construct and maintain Stage Managers Production Manual.
• Attend rehearsals, supervise blocking or ensure tasks are completed, manage props and notes, adjust schedules as needed.
• Call times and breaks as needed.
• Communicate rehearsal notes to the production team via rehearsal reports.
• Direct rehearsals in director's absence per guidelines and artistic vision.
• Attend tech rehearsals and ensure backstage safety and prop readiness.
• Call all tech rehearsals: starts, breaks, holds, ends.
• Manage backstage and dressing rooms for tech rehearsals and performances: call times/places, front-of-house opening, start of show.
• Call all performances: Curtain Up, light cues, sound cues, visual cues, set changes, Curtain down.
• Document performances with reports for the Production Manual.
• Direct backstage needs during tech rehearsal and performances via headset and staff.
• Direct strike activities and post-run clearing of show materials.

Responsibilities

• Run audition calls ensuring slots are met on time and that auditionees are moved through the process with information and direction.
• Construct and maintain Stage Managers Production Manual.
• Attend rehearsals, taking blocking or ensuring that a student assigned to the task completes it, taking props and designer notes, making schedule adjustments as needed.
• Calling times and breaks as needed.
• Communicating rehearsal notes to the production team through rehearsal reports.
• Run rehearsals in absence of Director, according to the guidelines and artistic vision set forth by the Director.
• Attend all tech rehearsals – setting the stage for rehearsal, ensuring the backstage area is conducive to rehearsal safety, ensuring all working props are available and placed properly.
• Call all tech rehearsals: starts, breaks, holds, ends.
• Manage backstage and dressing rooms for all tech rehearsal and performances: Call times and places, Call front-of-house opening, Call start of show.
• Call all performances: Curtain Up, Light cues, sound cues, visual cues, set changes, Curtain down.
• Document performances with performance reports, to be kept in Production Manual.
• Direct all backstage needs during tech rehearsal and performances via headset, designated personnel, and staff support.
• Direct strike activities.
• Strike booth and backstage of all show materials and gear post-run.
