Job summary

The Appalachian Center for the Arts at the University of Pikeville is offering a Stage Management Intern position. This hands-on internship provides production management experience, working with the production team during summer camps and performances, with weekend duties.

Applicants must be a registered UPIKE student, available for scheduling on two-week camp cycles, and prepared to support rehearsals, deck runs, and show strikes. Pay starts at $8.75/hour and hours will not exceed 40 per week.

Qualifications

• Current UPIKE student pursuing Theatre or related field.
• Experience supervising children is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge of theatre and theatre production is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist the stage manager with rehearsal prep and ground plan tasks.
• Assist stage management in communication between director, actors, designers, tech, and parents/guardians.
• Maintain and distribute necessary paperwork, including deck run sheets and costume trackers.
• Attend all production meetings and rehearsals.
• Manage stage deck during tech rehearsals and performances; ensure run sheets are current.
• Prepare rehearsal spaces and ensure safety and maintenance of the building on performance dates.
• Be on site for performances; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Attend show strikes.
