Job summary

Emerson College's Department of Performing Arts invites applications for a full-time faculty term position in Stage Management for our BFA in Design and Stage Management. The appointment begins August 19, 2027 with a mandatory 2-day orientation August 19–20, 2027.

This is an in-person teaching position based at Emerson's Boston campus. The position carries a 3/3 course load, teaching 6 classes over the academic year, including Stage Management Course Sequence 1–4, Arts Management, and Production

Qualifications

• Degree in Stage Management with at least 5 years professional theatre experience.
• Experience teaching Stage Management at the college level.
• Membership in Actors' Equity and USITT required.
• Affiliations to IATSE or AGMA preferred.
• Experience in Arts Management and Production Management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Stage Management concentration.
• Academic advising.
• Recruitment and interviews of prospective students.
• Retention initiatives and career placement support.
• Other service as assigned by the area and department.
