Metro’s Portland'5 Centers for the Arts in Portland, OR is seeking a Variable Hour Stagedoor Attendant to welcome staff, artists and guests while safeguarding access to venues and backstage areas. You will verify identifications, monitor doors, and respond calmly to security situations with strong guest service.

This role emphasizes security, hospitality, and teamwork; pay is $21.79 per hour, with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends, and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six months of experience in customer service, reception or security work.
• Any combination of education, experience and lived experience that demonstrates relevant skills is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Greet staff, visitors and vendors entering the facility with warmth and professionalism.
• Monitor stage doors and control access to ensure only authorized individuals enter.
• Open and secure the building at designated times to maintain a safe environment.
• Observe and respond to suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts.
• Operate communication tools and relay information to managers or team members as needed.
• Handle front desk tasks including phones, emails and basic administrative needs.
• Use computers to track logs, manage keys, and operate surveillance and alarm systems.
• Communicate clearly during emergencies and coordinate with 911 when necessary.
• Stay proactive during slower periods by organizing materials and updating logs.
