Job summary

The Shubert Theatre in New Haven, CT, operated by CAPA, seeks a Door Attendant to safeguard backstage during load-ins, loadouts and performances, and to work with security for efficient patron flow. Responsibilities include unlocking/locking dressing rooms, screening bags with metal detectors, guiding guests, tracking supplies, training staff, and assisting artists and caterers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unlocks and locks dressing rooms and stage door areas at the beginning and end of the call.
• Places and removes cones in the alley and loading/unloading spots at the beginning and end of the call.
• Maintains safe access to stage door and loading bay; may shovel snow as needed.
• Greets and monitors individuals at entrances to ensure only authorized access.
• Checks bags and conducts metal detector scans at lobby entrances during high-security events.
• Trains new staff and assists artists and catering staff as required.
