Job summary

Granite School District in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks a Part-time Stage Crew for the Student Department under the supervision of the Principal. You will assist in auditorium/stage productions, maintain dressing rooms, and support design and construction of sets and props for events.

The role is hourly, roughly 15 hours per week, with emphasis on attendance and timeliness. You’ll operate lights and sound equipment, work backstage, and coordinate with performers to meet performance deadlines;

Qualifications

• Regular school attendance.
• Must have problem solving and strong communication skills.
• Basic carpentry skills.
• Knowledge of light and sound equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Assists in various auditorium/stage productions.
• Assists in design, layout, and operation of lights during productions.
• Assists in design, set up, and operation of sound equipment during productions.
• Maintains general auditorium area, dressing room areas, and stage equipment including lights, sound equipment, sets, and props.
• Assists in design and construction of sets and props for various auditorium/stage events.
• Other duties as assigned

Working Environment

Working in the school auditorium. Most work done backstage. Exposure to dust and noise. Some stress in meeting performance deadlines.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and/or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.

• Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
