Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare Bloomfield, NJ is seeking a Staffing Specialist to own the full caregiver staffing lifecycle, from recruiting to matching with clients and ensuring staffing excellence.

The role emphasizes proactive recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing caregiver support, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred. This position offers growth into Operations Management, Workforce Management, Recruiting Leadership, or Business Development.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in healthcare staffing, home care, recruiting, workforce management, scheduling, or healthcare operations.
  • Experience recruiting hourly healthcare professionals preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience using ATS, scheduling software, or CRM systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities.
  • Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • English required; Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete caregiver recruitment process from sourcing through onboarding.
  • Create and post engaging job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
  • Source candidates through Indeed, social media, referrals, job fairs, community organizations, and other recruitment channels.
  • Screen resumes and applications.
  • Conduct phone and virtual interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with leadership when required.
  • Extend employment offers and coordinate pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified caregivers for immediate and future staffing needs.
  • Develop creative recruiting strategies to consistently meet hiring goals.
  • Match caregivers with clients based on skills, availability, personality, language, and geographic location.
  • Coordinate and schedule new and existing client cases.
  • Fill open shifts quickly while minimizing overtime and scheduling gaps.
  • Manage schedule changes, call-outs, emergencies, and last-minute coverage.
  • Communicate scheduling updates professionally with caregivers and clients.
  • Monitor caregiver availability and utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding from acceptance through first shift.
  • Collect and verify all required employment documentation.
  • Track licenses, certifications, physicals, TB tests, CPR, driver's licenses, and other compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and credential reviews.
  • Ensure employee records remain accurate and compliant with state regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies.
  • Support ongoing caregiver compliance and recertification.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for caregivers throughout their employment.
  • Build strong relationships that improve engagement and retention.
  • Conduct regular caregiver check-ins.
  • Address concerns professionally and mandate issues appropriately.
  • Recognize caregiver achievements and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Help create an outstanding caregiver experience from day one.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to prospective and existing clients.
  • Answer incoming calls with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
  • Support client onboarding and care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in scheduling and CRM systems.

About the Role

SYNERGY HomeCare is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Staffing & Recruitment Specialist to handle the full caregiver staffing lifecycle from recruiting exceptional caregivers to successfully matching them with clients and ensuring ongoing staffing excellence.

This is much more than a recruiting role. You will support the entire staffing process, ensuring we attract, hire, onboard, schedule, retain, and support outstanding caregivers while delivering exceptional service to our clients and referral partners.

The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys building relationships with both caregivers and clients. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

This position offers a clear pathway into Operations Management, Workforce Management, Recruiting Leadership, or Business Development for high-performing team members.

Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment (360° Hiring)
  • Manage the complete caregiver recruitment process from sourcing through onboarding.

Qualifications
