Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo, CA, seeks a Coordinator to ensure appropriate nursing unit staffing each day. You will aim to fill vacancies with internal staff or external agencies and input census and acuity data into the scheduling system to generate daily reports.

The role requires a High School/GED and offers the possibility of an Associate’s/Technical degree. This full-time position includes a regular day shift and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Creates, maintains and updates daily staffing sheets, as well as updating the “working” master schedules on a daily basis.

• Maintains and updates employee contact information for designated areas. Maintains staff qualifications list.
• Maintains attendance records, on-call and float lists. Processes leave requests. Inputs data into payroll system.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Ensures appropriate staffing of the nursing units on a daily basis. Looks ahead to fill vacant shifts with internal staff and external supplemental staffing agencies. Inputs accurate census, acuity and staffing data into the scheduling system to generate daily reports, and performs clerical, reception and general office duties. Creates a culture of sensitivity to nurses' needs while filling the patient care bases. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
