Job summary

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed acute care psychiatric hospital in Temple, Texas. The Staffing Coordinator ensures full unit staffing by managing the Shift Wizard system and adjusting staffing based on census, call-ins, and planned leaves.

This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer as part of the Nursing Management Team. Daily duties include staffing RN, LVN, and MHT roles, maintaining scheduling business rules, and coordinating with senior leaders to align orientation and

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Two years of hospital staffing/scheduling experience preferred; health-care setting experience valuable.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license; CPR and related certifications may be required.

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Central Texas town of Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. Position Summary

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for keeping all the hospital units fully staffed, in order for personnel to properly care for the patients within the facility. The Staffing Coordinator creates and manages the Shift Wizard (master scheduling software system), adjusting appropriately the staffing levels based on census fluctuations, call-ins and pre-planned leaves of absences to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. This position is a key contributor and a member of the Nursing Management Team, and reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Provide daily staffing of RN’s, LVN’s and MHT’s


  • Responsible for maintaining business rules, administering shifts and approving shift assignments in the nurse scheduling software program.


  • Communicate with CEO, CFO, CNO and all Nurse Supervisors regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Preferred: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or related field.


Experience: Two (2) years of related experience in hospital with staffing/scheduling responsibilities for all shifts for clinical and nursing personnel preferred; will consider business office and/or human resources experience, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office.


Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.


Additional Requirements: Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation.
