Job summary

The Pearl of Hillside is seeking a dedicated Staffing Coordinator to join our team. You will coordinate and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal care for residents in our facility.

Develop and maintain schedules across nursing, clinical, and support staff while ensuring proper coverage and compliance with regulations. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills and collaboration with HR and department heads.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in scheduling, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting, is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with employees and management professionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain staff schedules for all departments, including nursing, clinical, and support staff, while ensuring proper coverage at all times.
• Coordinate with department managers to understand their staffing needs and preferences.
• Respond efficiently to last-minute staffing changes, such as sick calls or emergencies, by finding suitable replacements.
• Ensure that the facility meets the required staffing ratios mandated by local, state, and federal regulations.
• Liaise with the Director of Nursing and other department heads to keep them informed of staffing schedules and changes.
• Facilitate communication between employees and management regarding scheduling issues or concerns.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure that all staffing-related documentation, such as timecards and attendance records, are accurate and up-to-date.
• Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations related to staffing and scheduling in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, union contracts (if applicable), and company policies related to scheduling and staffing.
• Monitor employee attendance and punctuality, addressing any recurring issues promptly.
• Generate reports on staff attendance, overtime, and other related metrics as required.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement to optimize scheduling efficiency.
• Utilize scheduling software and other tools to create and maintain accurate schedules.
• Train and support staff in using the scheduling software effectively.
