Employment Type: Full time

Shift: Evening Shift

Description: Temporary non-benefited position working for at least 6 months

The Staffing Clerk will work remotely full time between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

There is a weekend rotation every 6 weeks. The hours on the weekends will be either 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The Staffing Clerk supports Trinity Health's FirstChoice nursing mobile resource pool located at Trinity Health facilities nationwide. The FirstChoice Staffing Clerk assigns various patient care resources to patient care units across campuses. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of unit, departmental, and organizational policies to guide appropriate resource placement. Collaborates with nursing and unit leadership as resources are moved throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Schedules and reassigns staff to ensure the most qualified, cost-efficient staff are matched to current needs, following hospital, nursing, and Central Staffing Office policies.
  • Communicates regularly with unit-based leadership and staffing colleagues across hospitals to discuss resource needs, reassignments, and admission capacity.
  • Communicates with patient care colleagues via various methods to increase availability and flexibility, scheduling colleagues for open shifts.
  • Enters accurate scheduling, attendance, and timekeeping data into appropriate software. Generates reports to illustrate current resource allocation.
  • Assists in orientation and training of new staffing Clerks. Recommends staffing policy changes to improve efficiency.
  • Reports unresolved problems to Central Staffing Office leadership for follow-up.
  • Maintains good rapport, approaches conflicts constructively, and helps identify and resolve issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years of staff scheduling experience.
  • Preferably hospital healthcare scheduling experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Additional clerical and computer training is desirable.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with at least one word processing and one spreadsheet software; basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Telephone skills and ability to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, set work priorities, and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for communication with diverse staff.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Personal qualities of honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to motivate others and embody Trinity Health's values.

Pay Range

$16.82 - $23.00 an hour
