Job summary

Nokia in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Staff Yield Engineer to lead yield improvement initiatives for a high-volume InP PIC wafer fab. You will develop scalable process control methodologies and drive cross-functional actions across Integration, Process, Equipment, and Manufacturing to boost yield and ramp readiness.

You will apply rigorous problem-solving, statistics, and Six Sigma approaches to reduce variation, improve quality systems, and sustain manufacturing excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred or MS in an engineering discipline.
• 5-10 years of semiconductor or HVM experience.
• Hands-on yield improvement, process control, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Independent in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision making; experience with SPC/DOE/JMP.

Responsibilities

• Lead yield improvement initiatives and identify key detactors.
• Develop and deploy process control methodologies and control plans.
• Support root cause investigations for yield excursions and complex issues.
• Drive cross-functional resolution across teams using 8D methodology.
• Strengthen SPC, excursion management, and data-driven quality governance.
