Qualifications

• A design portfolio showcasing graphic design work.
• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in product design or UX.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
• Experience with design systems, storytelling and typography.

Responsibilities

• Establish and evolve the Material Design system across Android surfaces.
• Elevate practices by integrating new technologies and collaborate with engineering to balance feasibility and creativity.
• Prepare and manage executive storytelling for design systems and creative direction.
• Demonstrate AI savviness by leveraging AI tools to expand capabilities and scale output.
• Craft scalable design guidance and principles supporting implementation across partners.

• Establish, advocate, and drive the multi-year evolution of the Material Design system and delivery efforts across all Android surfaces.
• Elevate practices, solutions, and visual/graphical effects by integrating new technologies and methodologies. Remain deeply versed in engineering needs and actively collaborate to bridge technical feasibility constraints with creative execution.
• Prepare, orchestrate, and manage executive-level storytelling and narratives for design systems, strategy, and creative direction.
• Demonstrate deep AI savviness by proactively leveraging emerging AI technologies, tools, and workflows to expand creative capabilities, streamline design execution, and scale output.
• Craft effective, scalable design guidance and principles that seamlessly support implementation, standardizations, and quality delivery across first-party (1P) and OEM partners.
