Job summary
Teradata is seeking a Staff Virtualization Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure team to design, implement, and maintain our on-prem virtualization platform. You will work with KVM, VMware technologies and cloud concepts to deliver a scalable, high-performance environment for EDW and AI workloads.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize virtualization, automate deployments with Terraform and PowerShell, and contribute to reliability through testing and incident
Qualifications
- Minimum: BS in Computer Science/Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
- Masters: 5+ years of experience.
- PhD: 2+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform software engineering duties including problem analysis, design, development, test, and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve test strategies and processes.
- Conduct end-to-end testing to validate functionality, stability, and integration.
- Ensure information security throughout the virtualization platform.
- Drive virtualization best practices across customer environments.
- Automate deployments and test tools with scripting languages.
- Coordinate cross-functional processes to deliver customer needs.
- Collaborate to address new Teradata features and applications.
- Perform root cause analysis of customer reported issues.
