Pronto is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on Vehicle & Hardware Security in San Francisco. You will own security across in-vehicle networks, ECU firmware, secure boot, firmware signing, and OTA updates, partnering with vehicle engineering teams to set the security direction.

You will drive threat modeling, secure design reviews, and incident response while shaping a high-performing security organization and roadmap.

Formación

• 7+ years in security engineering with automotive/embedded/IoT.
• Hands-on with automotive protocols CAN/CAN-FD and UDS.
• Experience with automotive security testing tools such as SocketCAN, CANoe, Kayak.
• Production experience securing OTA firmware/software updates.
• Experience with secure boot, code signing, firmware integrity, rollback protection.
• Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and integration into SDLC.
• Experience leading projects/teams.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Own security of in-vehicle networks and ECUs from firmware to OTA.
• Partner with vehicle engineering teams to set security direction.
• Threat model and secure automotive networks.
• Review ECU security controls incl. secure boot and code signing.
• Secure OTA update pipeline with signing and canary rollouts.
• Work with hardware/manufacturing to mitigate supply-chain risks.
• Represent Security in design reviews.
• Own incident-response strategies for compromised vehicles.
• Provide technical leadership and establish standards.
• Help grow the security team with direction and planning.
