THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Staff Systems Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The AMD EPYC and Instinct team validation team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. The Validation Architect or Strategist – At‑Scale Farm is the technical owner of end‑to‑end validation strategy, architecture, and execution at scale of AMD Servers. This role defines how validation is architected, automated, and executed across distributed farm environments, ensuring optimal coverage, efficiency, and product quality outcomes.

THE PERSON

As a Validation Architect or Strategist – At‑Scale Farm, you will drive scalable and automated validation solutions. In this high‑visibility role, your systems validation and architecture expertise will be key to uncovering critical issues early and ensuring a high-quality, customer‑ready experience for AMD EPYC and AMD Instinct platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and continuously evolve validation coverage strategy, ensuring that validation is not just executing tests, but systematically maximizing bug discovery, minimizing customer escapes, and aligning validation with real-world customer usage.
  • Drive technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including content, tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross‑functional technical initiatives.
  • Assess customer escapes and translate them into structured validation test plans that systematically close coverage gaps and prevent recurrence.
  • Evaluate customer impact of gaps and mitigate risks prior to production.
  • Lead collaborative approach with multiple teams across AMD to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time.
  • Debug issues found during the process, bring‑up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • 14+ years of exposure to pre‑silicon + post‑silicon validation exposure including system‑level validation.
  • Has performed validation architect roles in the past in Client, SoC or Server.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must be a self‑starter with strong leadership & communication skills and customer orientation.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering.
