Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in California seeks a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support our Transmission & Distribution practice. You will perform and lead HV line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, routing, and structure analysis, while developing construction drawings and cost estimates.

You may guide junior staff and interface with clients on projects. The role requires a BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering, EIT/PE preferred, and 3+ years of HV transmission design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• EIT certification and/or PE licensure desired.
• 3+ years of HV overhead transmission line design experience.
• Strong communication, teamwork and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform, lead, and oversee HV OH Transmission line design including PLS-CADD and line routing.
• Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for HV lines.
• Develop specifications for hardware, material, and field installation.
• Mentor junior staff and lead teams when required.
