Job summary

Temporal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Traffic team. You will drive the technical strategy, execution, and leadership of traffic management, network optimization, and cloud orchestration initiatives.

The role offers influence over scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of Temporal’s networking infrastructure while mentoring the team. You will co-author roadmaps, lead architecture reviews, and partner with engineering, product, and security to deliver impactful

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex engineering efforts focused on network traffic management and cloud orchestration.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to align stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience writing concurrent and distributed code in Go, Java, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of systems that optimize network traffic and scale for global expansion.
• Drive architectural decisions for high-impact projects ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Co-author long-term technical roadmaps for network scalability, performance, and engineering velocity.
• Set the standard for a culture of engineering and operational excellence.
• Build partnerships across engineering, product, and security to align on goals.
• Lead design reviews for critical projects focusing on system-level tradeoffs and scalability.
• Drive secure-by-default network designs in collaboration with security teams.
