Apex is hiring a Staff Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic team in Vancouver, WA. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to develop technical expertise across a diverse range of projects.

As a Staff Traffic Engineer, you will support traffic studies, develop traffic control plans, and contribute to construction documents while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Competitive pay and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with transportation/traffic focus.
Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and analysis methods.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Support traffic engineering tasks under the guidance of project managers and senior engineers.
Assist with traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, intersection operations, and corridor evaluations.
Perform basic traffic analysis (e.g., level of service, capacity, queuing) using standard tools.
Help develop traffic control plans, including signage, striping, and signal layouts.
Contribute to preparation of construction documents for roadway and transportation projects.
Assist with traffic signal timing and operational improvements.
Coordinate with team members and support communication with clients and agencies.
Utilize tools such as Synchro, HCS, and Autodesk Civil 3D.
