Qualifications

Department Information

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides a wide range of counseling and clinical services to students at Student Health Services, including initial consultations, diagnostic and treatment formulation, crisis intervention, and short-term individual and group counseling.

Engages in prevention and educational efforts by designing and delivering psychoeducational programs.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy

Other Required Qualifications

Current, valid, and unrestricted license or associate license per the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists

Required Experience

Previous internship providing counseling services

• Three (3) years of related work experience


• Experience with electronic health record systems


• Experience working with diverse individuals and groups

• Knowledge of individual, group and couples counseling skills with young adult population presenting with concerns across the continuum of mental health


• Familiarity with short-term models of treatment

SKILLS

• Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills


• Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Electronic Medical Record systems)
