Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Technician for the Circuit Card Manufacturing area. The role focuses on visual inspection of electronic assemblies, verifying conformance to drawings, and supporting quality improvements on the production line.

Job description

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship is required. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. Security clearance type: DoD Clearance, Secret. Existing cleared status is required after day 1.

About the Position

Our team in Andover, MA is seeking a Technician with experience in electronic assemblies and hands‑on hardware quality experience to become a key member of the Common Process Operations Quality Team within the Circuit Card Manufacturing area. The CCM technicians work closely with engineering staff and other technicians to perform hardware inspection and support the manufacturing line.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspection of electronic assemblies, including circuit boards, solder joints, wiring, and components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Verify that assemblies meet engineering drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.
  • Identify, document, and disposition defects, non‑conformances, and deviations from the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and provide feedback for corrective actions.
  • Provide real‑time support to the production floor by addressing quality concerns, resolving technical issues, and assisting with troubleshooting to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • AA/AS degree or equivalent 2‑year post high school training with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working on electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with quality assurance processes, testing, and/or troubleshooting of circuit card or other electronic assemblies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with circuit card assembly, including component placement, soldering techniques (through‑hole and surface‑mount), and rework/repair processes.
  • Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610 & J‑STD‑001 standards and ability to work with engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Experience working directly with engineers, scientists, technicians, and leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to build positive, constructive professional relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong constructive problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of communities and backgrounds.
Additional Information

This is a 3rd shift position offering a 12% shift differential above the base pay. No relocation is offered at this time. The salary range for this role is $41,400 – $72,600 USD.
